Climate Change is Serious Business:What you need to know

Climate change is not a scientific debate, but a reality. Emerging data shows that the effects of global climate change may not be reversible as previously thought. But what impact will it have on your business? We’ll interpret the Inconvenient Truths of global warming, environmental trends and impact, and what it means for the future of the 21st century.

Jeffrey Simpson (7:30 p.m.)

Author, Journalist, TV personality and Officer of the Order of Canada

Hot Air: Meeting Canada's Climate Change Challenge

Author of the recent book Hot Air: Meeting Canada's Climate Change Challenge, Mr. Simpson will outline how Canadians have been misled by their politicians–”We're working on it!”, their industrialists–”Things aren't that bad, really, and voluntary guidelines will be good enough.”, and even their environmentalists–”Energy efficiency can be profitable, and people can change their lifestyles, no problem!”. He will then lay out in convincing and accessible terms, the few simple, yet forceful policies that Canada must adopt right now in order to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the next few decades.
